Summary

Responsible and accountable for the planning, design, implementation, analysis, troubleshooting, testing, documenting, training, maintenance, monitoring, support and inventory of Methodist s networks, associated equipment, software, utilities and applications on 7/24 basis.
Takes a lead role in network related projects and participates in multi-disciplinary teams.
Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.

REQUIRED:

Associates degree in Information Technology or related field.

Must have at least four (4) years of applicable Information Technology experience working with LAN/WAN routing and switching, load balancing, and network support.

Credentialed as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)

PREFERRED:

BS in Information Technology

Hands-on experience with F5 appliances VoIP and VOIP knowledge a plus.

High School diploma and six (6) years of applicable Information Technology experience working with LAN/WAN routing and switching, load balancing, and network support in lieu of education requirements.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Maintains expert technical knowledge of assigned technologies, including researching and recommending solutions.
  • Expert understanding of networking architecture and technologies (i.
    e.
    :
    Trunking, VLANs, STP, Multicast, PPP, Frame/Relay, ATM, MPLS, Metro-E, OSPF, BGP, VRF, QoS, ACLs, Route redistribution, etc.
    ).
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, IPSEC, SNMP, Syslog, HTTP(S), SSH, DHCP, DNS, RDP, LDAP, ICMP, SMTP protocols.
  • Proven proficiency with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Plans, designs, implements, analyzes, maintains and supports Methodist s network and all related network equipment.
  • Ensures systems are updated, backed up, inventoried and documented.
    Provides training to peers and other support personnel.
  • Reports progress and gives status updates to upper management.
  • Maintains professional development through demonstrated research and development of assigned technologies.
  • Ensures supported systems are monitored and secure.
  • Responds on an on-call basis to system software or hardware failures and takes appropriate corrective action.

Physical Requirements

  • Subject to call back at all times.
  • Must be able to effectively use the telephone.
  • Must be able to interpret equipment status indicators to determine appropriate operating condition.
    Indicators may include visual and/or auditory techniques or cues.
  • Must occasionally use small hand tools and be able to manipulate small equipment components such as computer cables, screws, nuts, or other fastening devices as usually found on computers equipment.
  • Will occasionally experience stressful working conditions due to tight project schedules and hardware or software problems.
  • Must occasionally lift, push, pull and/or carry equipment up to 40 lbs.
  • Must occasionally crouch, kneel, bend and/or crawl to access, inspect, connect, position or perform other operations on equipment.
  • Subject to regular periods of repetitive hand motion in the operation of computers or other equipment.
  • Must provide own transportation and be able to travel to any area of the MLH organization, both local and remote as needed.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
