Sr. Tax Analyst, Sales & Property (Sylvamo)

This position is currently located in the IP organization, assigned to the Sylvamo project, and will be transferred to the Sylvamo organization contingent upon the closing of the transaction estimated to occur 10/1/2021.

As Senior Tax Analyst, Sales and Property, you will:

  • Assist on assigned sales/use audits including, but not limited to, analyzing/collecting data, preliminary reviews of an auditor s report, reviews for potential overpayments, execute defense strategies and calculating potential liabilities
  • Conduct research on sales/use issues and respond to sales/use inquiries from internal and external sources
  • Oversee the monthly/quarterly/annual compliance data gathering and accrual processes and review information prior to transmission to outsources partners
  • Complete monthly reconciliation of general ledger account(s) as assigned.
  • Collect, review and analyze asset inventory information for preparation of property tax returns (including data from SAP, Digit, BPC, and other internal/external sources), complete property tax returns timely and accurately to meet statutory filing deadlines.
  • Review assessments for accuracy and reasonableness.
  • Assist in preparations for assessment negotiations or appeals by gathering data and working with manager and third party consultants/attorneys
  • Collect, review, research and process authorizations for tax bill payments.
  • Support internal business groups on sales/use and property issues.
  • Assist other areas of the Tax Department on assignments as needs are determined.
    Contribute as a member of special projects as assigned.

Knowledge and
Experience:

  • Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
  • Prior knowledge of SAP fixed asset, DigIt, project systems, and financial accounting modules a plus.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
