We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for our Memphis, TN location.
Design and develop manufacturing processes, tooling, and fixtures following the Toyota Production System (TPS) guidelines in order to meet daily production schedules and new product introductions, while enhancing productivity and product quality.
DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Improve TPS/LEAN concepts on a daily basis.
Implement TPS/LEAN concepts into every possible process.
PDCA for new products to ensure TPS/LEAN implementation is setup in the most efficient way.
Continue improvement on product lines to these criteria: Reduction in movement by operator, reduction in waste, reduction in production time, ergonomic, safety, highest quality product.
Implement new components into parts store and parts shelf.
Evaluate new components to determine manufacturing order and update documents where required.
Create Kanban and Part Shelf tags.
Ensure Mizusumashi is being followed and a good flow of material from parts store to part shelves.
Determine the staffing required for meeting production volumes and reconfiguring TPS line accordingly.
Support and make changes to manufacturing testing software.
Support Hi-Pot and Ground testing.
Investigate benefits and features of capital equipment, tools and generate capital appropriation justifications.
Improve or reduce cycle time, increase automation and improve Test coverage.
Improve Data collection, implement and improve production floor layout.
Improve communication and teamwork within department and between departments.
Perform timing studies and set/adjust standard labor.
Update work instructions, create and revise procedures as needed.
Track yields in manufacturing and integration. Use data for process improvement.
Support packaging development activities.
Procure assembly fixtures, tools, benches, bins, material handling, production supplies, labels, bags, adhesives, etc.
Monitor production demand; insure line layout, tools, fixtures capacity supports demand.
Qualifications
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE :
A minimum of 3-5 years related engineering experience.
Bachelor's degree is strongly preferred.
BSEE or Computer Science a Plus.
Experience with Toyota Production Systems and LEAN is a plus.
Computer Skills:
Individual must be PC literate and have the aptitude to learn operation of other computer systems.
Proficiency in Word, Excel, Access, SQL, PowerPoint, Outlook and other commonly used applications software is preferred.
Experience with AutoCad and/or Project Manager is preferred.
Windows & Linux knowledge a Plus.
