Ability to derive market, donor, program and other characteristics from stochastic and time-series
events
, using statistical software (R!, SPSS) and other tools. Ability to pull data from internal and external databases using SQL, FTP, XML and various other methods. Ability to build strategic models from variables extracted by statistical and financial analysis, using stochastic modeling and simulation analysis to inform decision making. In so doing, review, analyze and interpret internal and external data that are prepared daily, monthly, quarterly or annually. Involves working in an established office environment under normal lighting and climate control tolerances.

2. Demonstrates significant experience and deep expertise at solving a wide array of Ph.D.-level problems with statistical processes or procedures, including binomial or multinomial choice models, generalized probability models, nonlinear models, probit and logit models, conjoint analysis, segmentation analysis and modeling, cluster analysis, etc. Remains knowledgeable and current about the external environment, including but not limited to consumption economics and behavior, and the competitive environment in fundraising; long-term trends in key factors influencing market for philanthropy (e.g., through econometrics, income distributions, government policy, etc.). Deep expertise with stochastic modeling is required to inform decision making and forecasting under uncertainty, as well as to analyze, model and probe the efficient frontier and expected risks/results of alternative approaches to solving operating and enterprise-wide problems. Familiarity with actuarial risk analysis and valuation. Provides statistical analysis, modeling and scenario analysis related to (a) tactical statistical problems within various fundraising divisions, and (b) long-term strategic opportunities or issues to guide executives with best-practice decision making tools.

3. Exhibits proven ability to provide leadership and work with others in both highly numerical technical fields (economists, programmers, database analysts, analytical strategists, financial and market analysts, etc.) and non-numerical fields (fundraising, creative design, marketing).Working in collaboration with high-level analysts in the various divisions, design experiments, track results, introduce and execute corrections, analyze results and make recommendations to optimize effectiveness, revenue, response rate or donor experience. Build and test stochastic models of donor behavior.

4. Significant understanding of and experience with using macroeconomic and microeconomic data including consumer expenditure, GDP components, output and value added by industry, input-output tables, and other economic variables at the individual and macro level as inputs for statistical analysis, basis for segmentation, and as clustering for outputs.

Provides leadership and works with in-depth analysis of important performance metrics for fundraising and internal divisions, for use in formulation of tactical approaches with operating divisions and in strategic planning with senior management. Work with Six Sigma, internal divisions and fundraising to determine and parameterize the root cause of unexpected variances, which oftentimes must be incorporated as risks in strategic models. Perform risk analysis based on historical trends and prospective opportunities, test risk mitigation techniques via modeling to evaluate outcomes, and recommend alternatives to the relevant operating teams and executives. Familiarity with Big Data application and Optimization programming, as well as the development, application and use of simulation programming, typically in JAVA or C++. Requires use of a personal
computer
