76/HourlyTHIS IS A GRANT-FUNDED POSITIONJob Summary/Essential Job Functions:
Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, this position will perform critical tasks necessary to achieve the goals of our NIH funded research on the genetics of drug addiction.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Performs research tasks focused on breeding animals and conducts operant behavioral conditioning and analgesia testing.
Performs high throughput experiments that require exact schedules and excellent laboratory documentation.
Handles small animals, performs animal breeding, and behavioral testing.
Prepares experimental solutions, grounds and pipettes for patch-clamp and bilayer recordings.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSEDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree in one of the sciences OR a combination of related education and work experience equal four (4) years.
(TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of standard methods of analysis in the research field.
Knowledge of methods and techniques of compilation and analysis of research and statistical data.
Ability to interpret results and translate into recommendations.
Ability to oversee all laboratory maintenance on a day-by-day basis.
Assists with collecting and depositing data.
WORK SCHEDULE:
This position may be occasionally required to work evenings.
