We currently have an opportunity for a Operations Supervisor, Packaging at our Memphis, TN facility.

Responsibilities:
Participate in the support of plant and company safety programs, promoting and maintaining a high level of awareness and adherence to defined employee safety requirements such as lock-out/tag-out, personal protective equipment, confined space entry, etc.
Review the production schedule and prepare the daily team schedule, assign available resources to meet the scheduling priorities.
Review with all stakeholders the key issues affecting the current production scheduleAssist Operators with trouble shooting problems, advise the Maintenance Department of any maintenance issues immediately affecting production, where necessary provide maintenance with line priorities for immediate repair.
For non-urgent repairs, initiate a Fault ReportEnsure all operational tasks are completed safely and in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and in accordance with Company PolicyLiaise with Quality Department regarding any possible product non-conformances, take corrective action, and ensure all non-conformance product is appropriately actionedMonitor the plant for cleanliness and, if necessary redirect resources to maintain sanitation standardsEnsure all key issues are documented effectively communicated to stakeholders regarding the status of production, resources, non-conformances, or other key issuesProvide employee training to ensure that employees are performing job responsibilities effectivelyProvide direction to employees regarding assigned tasks and performance expectations including job hazards and safe work practicesEvaluate subordinate performance, communicate with employees, and provide information for work performance improvementAdminister the Kronos payroll system, complete Absence reports as required, and manage all documentation relating to the request and approval of time off and leaves according to Company Policy, departmental guidelines and Collective AgreementMonitor and enforce all Company Policies and ProceduresProvide feedback to employees with respect to work performance; provide coaching and mentoring when requiredProvide feedback/documentation for notable performance both exemplary and non-conformance performance, and ensure individual and team recognition is given where specific goals are accomplishedDuties as assigned
Qualifications:
Post-Secondary education in Operations Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Food Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Supply Chain, or other Natural Sciences preferredHigh School diploma or GED equivalent requiredTwo years
supervisory experience preferredPrevious experience working in a unionized manufacturing environment preferredExperience implementing policy and procedures and directing workforce to meet production targetsERP experience preferredUnderstanding of manufacturing processes and lossKnowledge of GMP'sWorking knowledge of plant equipment and safetyAbility to distinguish normal/abnormalExcellent communication, interpersonal, problem solving and organizational skillsPrevious experience in a food-processing or manufacturing environment is a plusAbility to work weekends and/or shift work with a strong work ethic and employment historyA self-motivated individual that is able to multi-task and lead others Richardson International provides an excellent compensation package consisting of competitive salary, pension, a flexible benefits plan and training and career development opportunities.
