Responsibilities:
Here is what a day in the life of the Senior Technical Support Specialist would look like:
Provides expert level hardware and software support for local computing resources.
Supports local networking resources and requirements.
Works with technology staff, clients, collaborators and vendors to identify and analyze needs, investigate solutions, implement and deploy required technologies.
Maintains technologies and observes procedures used for management and deployment of systems and software.
Works to complete projects as assigned by institutional, departmental or divisional requirements.
Functions as an active participant in working with departments, departmental liaisons and the individual clients.
Maintain an awareness and understanding of technological advances, vendor product offerings and issues in line with campus requirements.
Maintains current knowledge of institutional, departmental and divisional policies and procedures and acts in all duties and responsibilities to comply with these and other required regulations, policies or procedures.
Performs other related duties as assigned or directed in order to meet the goals and objectives of the department.
Mentors, trains and assists other technology service providers as required.
Minimum Education:
High School Diploma/GED requiredAssociate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree strongly preferredMinimum
Experience:
Eight (8) years of experience in supporting local computing environments required.
Experience configuring, installing and supporting computers and printers in a networked environment, troubleshooting and desktop end-user support and participation in small scale IT projects also requiredSix (6) years is acceptable with an Associate's Degree in a computer related field; Three (3) years is acceptable with a Bachelor's degree in a computer related fieldWindows OS experience preferredMac OS experience preferredVIP/Executive Support experience preferredOther Credentials:
