As the Secretary (OA) of EMS, the incumbent's duties will include, but are not limited to:
Receive visitors and telephone calls for the service, determine nature of call and handle appropriately. Maintain the Service Chief's daily calendar, make appointments and assist in arranging meetings and staff training with specific prior approval. Use computers, as well as related printing equipment to:
create, copy and edit documents, make insertions or deletions, move material from one place to another; and store, retrieve, and print a variety of standardized paragraphs, and mail lists. Receive incoming mail for the service. Determine whether correspondence should be brought to the attention of the Administrative Officer, Service Chief, or referred to appropriate personnel, follow up on incoming mail to insure timely and appropriate action. Review all outgoing correspondence for neatness, accuracy, adherence to established format, and adherence to the Medical Center's policies. Prepare correspondence, such as routine official correspondence, personal acknowledgements, congratulatory letters, and routine office reports. Take minutes for service meetings and convert minutes into proper format using correct spelling, grammar, sentence structure, and format. Read all incoming correspondence and advise the Service Chief of significant items contained in circulars, letters, and correspondence. Draft responses to requests and/or inquiries not requiring a technical response. Process invoices and prepare required forms. Perform timekeeping functions for the Service. Work Schedule:

Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-6 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-5. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. SPECIALIZED
Experience:
Applicants must have one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-5 grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is defined as experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that are typically in or related to the position to be filled such as a clerical and administrative support position in a medical or hospital setting and which has equipped the applicant to perform such functions as receiving telephone calls for the service, maintaining files, Service chiefs calendar, records, and correspondence, preparing correspondence, logs, and reports, and performing as principal timekeeper. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to the GS-05 level in Federal service to qualify at the grade 06. NOTE:
Evidence of specialized experience must be supported by detailed documentation of duties performed in positions held. Please provide such documentation on resume. You must be able to type at least 40 WPM. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
