Dermatologist (Temporary Not-To-Exceed 120 Days)

General duties include, but are not limited to:
Clinical practice, supervising and teaching fellows, residents and medical students in the specialty of Dermatology. Providing consultation to non-rheumatology services for hospitalized patients with dermatology concerns. Providing outpatient dermatology consultations and clinic appointments for Veterans with a variety of dermatology concerns. Performing standard dermatology procedures (Moh's) Ensuring that treatment is safe, timely, efficient, efficacious, evidence-based, and patient-centered. Ensuring that patients receive appropriate follow-up for patients with dermatology concerns. The physician is expected to share attending call responsibilities with other Dermatology/Internal Medicine specialists in covering some nights, weekend and holiday calls as needed. The physician will round with the team of fellow(s), resident(s), and medical student(s) as regards to inpatient settings. Work Schedule:

United States Citizenship:
Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Completion of residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. Experience:
Board Certification/Board Eligibility in Internal Medicine and Dermatology Reference:
VA Regulations, specifically VA Handbook 5005, Part II, Appendix G-2 Physician Qualification Standard. This can be found in the local Human Resources Office. Physical Requirements:
Normal safety precautions while working in an office/clinic or inpatient unit type environment, which is well lighted, clean and does not present hazards to personal safety. There may be occasional risk of physical harm, which requires special precautions and training. The incumbent may be exposed to infectious diseases and medical/psychiatric emergencies.
