United States Citizenship:
Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Completion of residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. Experience:
This request is for a full-time Board-Certified Neurologist who will treat adult patients in in-patient settings and out-patient clinics at the Memphis VA Medical Center and its affiliated academic institution, the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. The position will include opportunities for research; teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows; participation in general and sub-specialty neurology clinics, inpatient consultations, attending duties and on-call expertise; and a faculty appointment at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center at a rank appropriate to experience. The successful candidate will have academic credentials and demonstrated skills in teaching skills medical students, residents, and neurology residents and/or fellows, such that he/she will qualify for an Assistant/Associate/Full Professor appointment at the University of Tennessee Health Science. The candidate must be board certified in neurology (AAN) or have just completed residency and board-eligible and have demonstrated leadership skills to execute clinical and administrative duties of a neurologist within a multi-faceted clinical team. Other neurologists in the practice group have sub-specialty expertise in dementia, stroke, multiple sclerosis, neuromuscular diseases, epilepsy, headache, chemodenervation, and ALS Reference:

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
