Position Description
The Web Developer (2) develops and designs web pages for AutoZone E-Commerce. This individual works closely with IT, Marketing, Merchandising, and E-Commerce analyst to develop internal site promotions to drive traffic and revenue, while working closely with the program manager and IT to create prototypes and design documents for site enhancements. The Web Developer also maintains AutoZone E-Commerce and other AZO websites by updating links and refreshing content and designs and develops online merchandising, promotion, and advertising material.
Comfortable with source version control software (SVN, CVS, Git).
Well-versed in fundamental visual and interactive design practice and theory.
Strive to use web standards to build solutions using semantic markup and CSS.
Understanding of all major browsers (mobile and desktop) and the special considerations required for all various quirks.
Competent JavaScript programmer who is can leverage existing frameworks when advantageous but doesn't need to rely on libraries to accomplish innovative interactions.
Aware of the interplay between JavaScript and HTML & CSS, and can dynamically create, modify, and style elements on a page with ease.
Able to communicate technical issues to a non-technical audience.
Proven experience with JSP coding (desired) and experience with implementing data-driven technologies into UI design.
Exhibit a practical knowledge of Java programming and development, with ATG specific knowledge a plus
Ability to plan and build modular CSS solutions using SASS
Will work cross-functionally (IT, Merchandising and Marketing) to develop site pages to drive traffic and revenue
Creates site page prototypes from business requirements and assists in the creation of design documents.
Works under the direction of the Sr. Web Developer

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Communications, Design or Marketing
Five years of experience in web development, or Masters Degree or other advanced training
