Summary:
The primary role of the Industrial Maintenance Technician/Electrical is to safely troubleshoot, repair, replace, and commission industrial production equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime is achieved.
Education and Experience Requirements:
1.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
2.
Industrial Electrical certified up to 480 volts 3.
Experience diagnosing equipment electrical failures including drives, relays, contactors, and transformers.
4.
3 -5 years' industrial electrical experience required.
Skills Preferred:
1.
Knowledge of Rockwell and Siemens PLC is preferred along with a background in machine process control (Marcal uses Rockwell and Siemens servo control systems along with advanced networking communications, including Ethernet and SERCOS protocols) 2.
Ability to utilize a controls laptop to diagnose complex equipment failures pertaining to software and machine logic.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Basic computer skills including but not limited to Outlook e-mail, and Microsoft Suite applications.
Knowledge of electrical theory and principles of operation Standard knowledge of product specifications, quality requirements, production goals, efficiency, and waste Strong analytical skills, understanding of cause-and-effect logic.
Ability to perform accurate industrial electrical and mechanical repairs up to 480 volts.

Problem solving experience/capability.

Demonstrated safe, effective use of hand, maintenance, power, and shop tools.
Demonstrate mechanical aptitude.
Must have good communication skills and be able to work well in a team-oriented environment.

Knowledge of basic web handling with industrial experience is desired with focus on paper products converting, packaging being a plus.

Visual acuity 11.
Ability to climb, stoop, reach, bend on continuous basis; 50-pound minimum lifting.
12.
Self-motivated and able to work independently and as a team utilizing mechanical and analytical aptitude.
Essential Job Duties and
Responsibilities:
1.
Ensure maintenance activities performed on equipment meet or exceed the manufacturer's requirements for quality and reliability.
2.
Ensure manufacturer warranties remain effective by adhering to necessary safeguards and guidelines.
3.
Perform troubleshooting, machine repairs, and replace components, as required.
4.
Perform preventative maintenance and cleaning of machines and plants systems.
5.
Perform equipment repairs including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic.
6.
Proper use of test equipment to logically troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
7.
Fabricate equipment as required.
8.
Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
9.
Perform accurate record keeping, as required.
10.
Maintain plant support systems in working order, i.
e.
, heat, air, fans, air compressors and dryers, etc.
11.
Responsible for housekeeping in parts room, shop and air compressor rooms and production work areas.
Ensure work areas are neat, organized, and free of safety hazards.
12.
Ensure production area floors and equipment are free from excess spare parts, worn parts, debris, and other items not necessary for operating and maintaining production equipment.
13.
Ensure compliance with OSHA and Company safety rules and regulations; communicate as appropriate.
14.
Adhere to the Company on call policy and maintain an on-call status on either an intermittent or regularly scheduled basis.
15.
Maintain an open line of communication between peers, shifts, and leaders to ensure effective reporting of equipment deficiencies and repairs are reported in a timely manner.
16.
Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
17.
Ensure compliance with OSHA and Company safety rules and regulations.
18.
Adhere to all company policy and procedures.
19.
Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function of this position.
