Cisco Network Engineer

BG Staffing has joined with a public sector client in search of a of Network Engineer The Network Engineer will be assisting in the designing and maintenance of computer networks, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), internet, intranet, cloud, data center, and other communications systems.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Performs administration and implementation tasks for the organization's network infrastructure, including wired, wireless, and voice connectivity.
Responds to requests for installation, administration, and support of network components and systems.
Provides technical support for network issues, network analysis, installation, configuration, and support.
Coordinates and makes assignments for the current and future requirements of assigned areas of responsibility.
Implements and provides guidance related to processes and policies.
Creates and maintains network documentation, including scopes of work, diagrams, processes, and test plans.
Monitors network performance and investigates problems and outages to resolution.
Evaluates and recommends solutions that are feasible, cost-effective, compatible, and consistent with the department and organization's strategic goals.
Research, plans, tests, and supports the implementation of various business and technical solutions.
Responds as required or requested on a 24/7 on-call basis to support the organization.
Working with other network engineers and/or vendor support to reduce network service disruption.
Takes initiative, exercises sound judgment, communicates, and when necessary, directs inside and outside resources to resolve problems.
Perform network modeling, analysis, and planning for the enterprise.
Incorporate security best practices in Network design implementation.
Minimum Job Requirements 4-5 Years of Networking experience Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a similar field of study.
An equivalent combination of experience and relevant industry certification may be substituted as appropriate.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to track, manage, and ensure project tasks are completed promptly.
Ability to prioritize multiple simultaneous projects.
Working Technical Knowledge in Network Automation and Network Design.
Working knowledge in Enterprise Wireless Technology Working knowledge in Extreme Networks (Extreme Routing and Switching, Extreme Fabric Connect, Extreme Cloud IQ) is a plus.
Working knowledge in low voltage structured cabling design and outside plant fiber optic cabling design.
