Youth Villages, seeks candidates for a Business Development Representative to support our business development and government relations efforts.
Summary This position will be responsible for supporting program leadership and the business development/strategy/government relations team with a focus on managing growth and development in assigned states that are currently heavily funded by Medicaid dollars with managed care involvement.
Essential duties - Work closely with state leadership to drive expansion of YV services in assigned states (create and revise state business plans in collaboration with the state leadership, monitor RFP opportunities, lead RFP response efforts, generate new rates/budgets, work in collaboration with the state on a robust relationship management/building process, etc.)
- Identifies and articulates reasons why an opportunity would be of interest/ not of interest to Youth Villages
- Assists in initial and ongoing marketing efforts and relationship building as well as presentations (marketing packets, works with Communications Dept. and state leadership to develop necessary materials, creates PowerPoint presentations for internal and external communications, writes letters and e-mails)
- Communicates with program and other Youth Villages leaders, including CEO, during potential expansion periods and new site start-ups
- Assists and/or leads the process of responding to Request for Proposals (RFPs) of interest to the organization in order to grow services in assigned states.
- Assists and/or leads the process of developing budgets to determine productivity goals, new rates, new rate structures, etc.
- Assists and/or leads the process of state landscape and competitor research and effectively and concisely reports on findings.
- As a member of Business Planning and Policy Department, must be flexible with additional job duties, including but not limited to conference attendance and contract adherence processes
We are looking for an addition to our team who will bring strong critical thinking skills, attention to detail and experience working with upper level leadership. We need a Business Development Specialist who is an assertive self-starter with a strong sense of flexibility and creativity.
- A Master-s degree is preferred; Bachelors required.
- Ability to travel up to 25% of time is required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills and communication skills (written and verbal) also required.
- Experience managing Medicaid or managed care-funded services for a non-profit or mental health agency, or other child/family serving entity preferred.
