Job Description
Responsible for providing ongoing support of all systems (operating, electronic mail and messaging, telephony, network and/or storage SAN) in support of internal and external applications including security. Evaluate and recommend solutions; plan and execute implementation. The scope of these tasks will include installation, configuration and maintenance of hardware, operating systems network hardware, and applications with the objective of providing robust and stable operating platforms and environments. May be responsible with the development and monitoring of security policies. Ensure proper controls are designed into systems and networks, monitor emerging threats and assess risks.
Monitor availability, performance and security of computer systems software including operating systems, telephony and/or network systems and utilities, servers, SAN, and other hardware and related application systems.
Install, configure and document computer systems software, hardware and related applications systems. Add and remove systems software and hardware according to established procedures.
Perform routine maintenance of hardware and software in conformance with established procedures. Troubleshoot basic hardware and software problems.
Create, monitor, modify and maintain user accounts and implement systems use policies.
Assist in data backup and disaster recovery. Assist in responding to security breaches, service interruptions, and other critical situations.
Monitor resource use including internal memory and disk space.
Participate in the coordination of systems activities and communicates with other internal and external systems staff. Participates in systems planning, design and development and systems hardware and software projects.
Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.

Must be able to demonstrate a good understanding of the information technology environment/infrastructure utilized for the job. Able to apply previous work experience to understand the goals and objectives of the assigned information services area and how the work affects other areas/groups. Requires knowledge of current computer operating system programming languages and technologies. Knowledge of computer systems administration or programming theory, principles and practices. Knowledge of current software and hardware technologies. Skill in installing, configuring and maintaining computer hardware, operating and application systems and utilities. Skill in providing technical information and support to technical and non-technical users.

Required Experience
Bachelor degree in discipline related to functional work or role with up to 3 years of relevant work experience OR demonstrated ability to meet the job requirements through a comparable number of years of applicable work experience.
