Duties: Maintain balance between federal and international assignments for the position will depend upon the candidate?s level of contest experience and interests. Handle international assignments which include some travel and an understanding of VAT and Income Tax Treaties with the ability to research for country specific tax treatment and procedures. These assignments will usually involve very proactive management of local counsel and be responsible for strategic decisions in litigation, and depending on the country, the administrative appeal process. Responsible for all tax contest submissions and aligning positions to be consistent with overall Company positions. Federal assignments will include some general federal tax research and risk assessment of planning proposals, but will primarily assist in the preparation of responses to 5701s and respond to any process questions from the audit team. Assist or handle directly the tax appeal process, including drafting protests and supporting briefs. Works closely with and advises the Company?s Tax Department during their handling of audits. Serves as the Tax Department?s counsel as they handle federal audits, and will be responsible for the preparation and handling of any administrative appeals, litigation, or communications with government attorneys. Develop a strong understanding of the operational components and trends in the technology and transportation industries and unique tax issues associated with those industries.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
